April 5: First soccer game of the season!

April 19: Picture Day (Here's the order form)

May 3: Earlybird Registration for the Fall 2008/Spring 2009 AYSO season

May 10: Last game of the spring season Reminder: One practice per week, whether the practice is before a game or during the week. The coaches may elect to hold two practices the two weeks prior to games commencing. That is up to the individual coach.

April 19 th is Picture Day for our region. If you want individual pictures of your child taken, please arrive ½ hour before your scheduled game. At this point, our board is going to try to have the team pictures taken AFTER the game, so once your game has ended, please make your way to the where the pictures are being taken. Last year, they took the pictures near the pond, but that may change this year. We could also use your help in keeping kids away from the pond area—board members will be canvassing that area and asking kids to step away from there, but your help in deterring kids from even being near the pond itself would be greatly appreciated

During the season, only one practice is allowed during the week for the U8 and above divisions.  The practice night is determined by the coach. U6 teams will practice 1/2 hour prior to their games on Saturday.

One of AYSO's basic philosophies is 'Balanced Teams.'  This is why we cannot honor requests to put children on the same teams.  The only way that you can get kids on the same team is for a parent of one household to volunteer as a coach and a parent in the other household to volunteer as the assistant coach or team parent.  For more information about Balanced Teams, please visit our national website at www.soccer.org .

April 5 is when the games began and the last games will be May 10.

AYSO does not allow your child to play soccer if they have a splint or cast of any ttpe. Sometimes, a child will remove his or her splint to play soccer. It a coach or referee sees this happen, your child will not be allowed on the field. This is for the safety of your child. There are exceptions for soft knee braces. Please talk to Melanie, Angie Buck or Tim to make sure if your child has an acceptable brace.

AYSO has a Kids Zone program which means that all sideline behavior during games and practices will be positive in nature. We believe that by yelling only encouraging comments from the sidelines, allowing the coach to do the coaching and supporting the referees and coaches without judgements on their decisions and calls willl make soccer a much more enjoyable sport for your child.

For the concession stand this year, we are going to have each team on a concession stand schedule. Your team will only have to man the stand for an hour or so for the entire season.

Here are preliminary schedules in Excel format:

Our Region’s goal is for kids to play soccer - so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least three quarters of every game. No player on any team may play four quarters unless all players present have played three quarters.
